Public and charter schools
Daily attendance a MARSS coordinator can use.
A charter school's attendance has to be recorded every school day and feed the student information system that reports to the Minnesota Department of Education. HubiCare records it at the door or in the classroom, by the school's own student number, and exports one row per student per day.
What you get
What a school gets
Attendance by student number
Each student carries the school's own number, unique in the organization. The attendance file is keyed on it, so your SIS matches rows without guessing.
P, T, A and E
Present, tardy after the school's late time, absent, or excused when the family reported it and the school approved. A missing sign-out is marked, never hidden.
The school attendance file
Excel or CSV for owners and directors with two-step sign-in, every download logged; your MARSS coordinator imports it into the SIS that reports through MARSS or Ed-Fi.
Families in their language
Absence reports, announcements and two-way messages in English, Somali, Spanish, Arabic, Urdu, Swahili, Amharic and Oromo.
How it works
A school day in HubiCare
Students sign in
At the door tablet with a code or card, or marked by the teacher on the classroom roster; the time and the person are recorded.
Late arrivals are flagged
The school sets its late time; the Late arrivals report lists who came after it, and the file writes T for that day.
The file goes to the SIS
Download the range you need. Today and future days are left out so nobody shows as absent before the day ends.
Questions
Questions schools ask
- Does HubiCare report to MDE or make MARSS files?
- No. It exports the attendance file your student information system imports. MARSS and Ed-Fi reporting stay in the SIS, which holds state student IDs and aid categories.
- What about students under 13 using the family app?
- Family logins are for parents and guardians. Our children's privacy and student data notices describe the school-authorization path and FERPA handling.
- Does it work for an after-school program inside the school?
- Yes. A site can be the school day and another the after-school program, each with its own hours and words, in one organization.
